On the afternoon of Sunday 2nd February 2020, members of 42F (King’s Lynn), 864 (Watton), 1018 (Downham Market), 1249 (Dereham) and 2534 (Fakenham) Squadrons of the RAF Air Cadets joined together on the base at RAF Marham for their annual ATC Sunday parade and church service to mark the February 1941 formation of the Air Training Corps.

After forming up near to the station’s static Victor Tanker aircraft they marched off, led by Squadron Leader Peter Howlett RAFAC, past the Station Headquarters building where, following the command ‘eyes left’, the salute was taken by Wing Commander Gareth Prendergast the Officer Commanding RAF Marham’s Operations Wing.

Following the parade, the church service was held in the station’s Chaplaincy Centre conducted by Deacon Jo Critchley from RAF Marham Chaplaincy who is also Padre at 1018 Squadron. An address was given by Wing Commander Prendergast after which the cadets renewed the Air Training Corps Promise.

Following the service everyone present, cadets, uniformed staff and proud parents retired for tea and cake at which time many of the cadets had the opportunity to chat informally with the RAF Marham officers present.
