The Skyways facility at RAF Wyton was the venue for the launch of the Central and East Region’s new Media Course.
Aimed at Squadron Media and Communication Officers, the course covered the use of the RAF Air Cadet branding, press release writing, use of the many differing media platforms, engaging with the public, photography and making use of media opportunities.
The course, lasting one information packed day, is open to all levels of volunteer staff and senior cadets tasked with promoting their squadrons within their communities.
The Regional Media and Communications Officer, Squadron Leader Al Munns said; “ It is crucial that we take every opportunity to promote what we do and to inform the public about our fantastic organisation that does so much for the youngsters within our local communities. Without a doubt, the RAF Air Cadets are a leading youth organisation and we need to get that message across utilising whatever media platform is available”
It is planned to hold the next course towards the end of the year.
