New Commission Scrolls Presented


Against the backdrop of Northampton’s Delapré Abbey, The Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire presented the new Cadet Forces Commission scrolls to Officers from across the three Cadet Forces.

Among the recipients were Officers of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) who were receiving their scrolls, having changed from being Officers of Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (Training) branch to Officers holding the new Cadet Forces Commission.The RAFAC Officers came from Squadrons within Northamptonshireas well as representatives of South and East Midlands Wing led by the Wing’s Officer Commanding, Wing Commander Andy Pass.

The Queen’s representative for the County, The Lord Lieutenant, Mr David Laing, personally presented each Officer with their commissioning scrolls.

The Lord Lieutenant also presented the Cadet Forces Medal and first clasp to Flight Lieutenant Sean Kelly and a Commandant Air Cadets Certificate of Meritorious Service to Flight Lieutenant Helen Roberts.

Wing Commander Andy Pass said; “It was a proud occasion for all concerned and it was fitting that all the Cadet Forces were represented as we all now receive the same commission.  Having the Lord Lieutenant present the scrolls was recognition of the value of the commissions and the high regard in which those receiving the commissions are held”.

The recipients were:  Wing Commander Andy Pass, Squadron Leaders Kev Ritchie and Carol Haynes.   Flight Lieutenants Sean Kelly, Paul Ferguson, Colin Harmer, Darrell Hill, Helen Roberts and Flight Lieutenant (Retired) Graham Holloway, Flying Officer Phil Warr and Pilot Officers Dawn Upton and Rico Gilbert.5
