Top Cadet is a Wigston Cadet


image1 (2)Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) David Timson has today been named as the Central & East Region’s representative for the prestigious Dacre Sword, a National search for the country’s top male cadet in the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

So what makes a top cadet? CWO Timson is a senior Flight Staff Cadet at 644 Volunteer Gliding School and also a glider pilot. He has worked hard and achieved the Junior Leaders qualification and is currently the Lord Lieutenants’ Cadet for Leicestershire, supporting Lady Gretton at civic and public functions.

In addition to this David was awarded not one but two flying scholarships in 2014, passing with excellent results and achieving solo powered flight. He is also a keen sportsman and has achieved excellent results throughout the Air Cadet academic paths. David is also Canada bound with the International Air Cadet Exchange and will be setting out on his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Expedition with the South & East Midlands Wing later this year.
