Central and East Region are delighted to announce the appointment of Flight Lieutenant Liz Blake as Region Media, Influence & Engagement Officer from 1st December 2024. Liz is currently Officer Commanding 2462 (Oakley) Squadron and will take on this role in addition whilst leaving the role of Wing MCO for Beds & Cambs Wing. She has a keen interest in media and has volunteered with the Air Cadets since 2014, taking on Wing roles such as Bader and RIAT point of contact in addition to squadron and sector roles.
The previous role of Region Media & Communications Officer has been expanded to incorporate Influence & Engagement as the Region looks to engage with local educational establishments and industry in order to develop the opportunities available to Cadets and Volunteers. The new role also looks to highlight the benefit of the Cadet Experience to employers across the Region.
Liz said “Increasing opportunities for the cadets in our Region is an important part of this role. Expanding the traditional media role to include engagement with educational establishments and businesses is something I look forward to.”
