Beds & Cambs Wing Triumph at Cross Country

The Central & East Region Inter Wing Cross Country Championships took place at RAF Cranwell on a chilly, windy but sunny February Sunday morning.

After a month of above average rainfall, the course was, in places, rather muddy and slippery, however, the competitors over came the conditions to produce very close and competitive races in all the classes.

With all the scores added together at the end of the competition, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing were declared the overall Central and East RegionCross Country Champs for 2020.   South and East Midlands gave them a good run for their money coming in second place with only a five point difference.  Third place was taken by last year’s Champions, Trent Wing.

Well done to Beds & Cambs but a huge thanks to all who supported the event, giving up yet another Sunday.   A very big thanks to Wing Commander Matt Oram, Officer Commanding Herts & Buck Wing, for presenting all the medals and trophies.

The whole event ran like clockwork thanks to the Region’s  Sports Officer, Squadron Leader Michelle Worsnop and her team.<{R
