Air Cadets from across the Central and East Region of the RAF Air cadets gathered at the Grantham Athletics Stadium for a day of competition that ended with a resounding win for the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing’s young athletes.
There was a welcome break in the unseasonal wet weather that allowed a full day of uninterrupted, keenly fought competition of the highest standard.
Along the way several records were broken:

Class C Junior Men Shot CWO J Hudson South & East Mids Wing 11.30m

Class D Junior Girls Relay Trent Wing 55.87secs
Addressing the cadets and presenting the trophies was the Region’s Commandant, Group Captain Nigel Gorman who praised all the cadets who competed reminding them that to get to the inter wing competition meant they were the best in their wings and that all those cadets who took part should be proud of what they have achieved.
Squadron Leader Michelle Worsnop, the Region Sports Officer echoed those sentiments and went on to thank all the staff who helped make the day the resounding success it turned out to be.
