Trent Wing Triumph at Cross Country

The Central & East Region Inter Wing Cross Country Championships took place at RAF Cranwell on a warm and sunny February Sunday morning.

The unseasonal conditions suited the runners and all classes were keenly contested with the eventual overall winners being Trent Wing with Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire Wing as runners up and Norfolk & Suffolk Wing close behind in third place.

Trent Wing’s success was due to their consistency having a top two place in every class showing the depth of running talent throughout the competition age range.  Cadet Bridie Mason from 17 Coningsby Squadron representing Trent Wing said; “It was a tough  Cross Country but it was a good race and I really enjoyed it”.

Well done to Trent but a huge thanks to all who supported the event, giving up yet another Sunday. The whole event ran like clockwork thanks to the Region’s new Sports Officer, Squadron Leader Michelle Worsnop who said; “it has been a wonderful day of competition and I had tremendous support from the staff that attended and the from RAF Cranwell who provided the excellent facilities”
