Cadets Parade at RAF Marham For ATC Sunday

Air Cadets from 42F (King’s Lynn), 1018 (Downham Market), 1249 (Dereham) and 2534 (Fakenham) Squadrons were welcomed onto RAF Marham for the Corps’ annual ATC Sunday Parade and church service.

Having been officially formed 78 years ago on 5th February 1941 it is customary for the Corps individual squadrons to parade on the nearest Sunday to that date and attend a church service.

Over recent years RAF Marham has invited the RAF Air Cadet Squadrons from the towns in its locality to come together for this special day in the Corps calendar. Over 50 cadets from the four squadrons joined together for the parade which was followed by the service in the base church, which with the addition of proud parents was filled to capacity.

The salute was taken by RAF Marham’s Base Commander, Group Captain “Cab” Townsend ADC MA RAF. He also addressed the cadets during the service which was conducted by the Reverend (Flight Lieutenant) Chrissie Lacey

Following the official proceedings all present, were welcomed into the chaplaincy centre for refreshments where the cadets had the opportunity to meet informally with the Station Commander.
