Cadet’s Skill Adds String to Squadron’s Bow.

King’s Lynn’s 42F Squadron Air Cadets, as well as enjoying the activities that they are able to experience and the friendships they make, as squadron members are always striving to achieve the numerous awards, both academic and activity based that are available to them as members of the RAF Air Cadets.

Some awards achieved outside the Air Cadets are also recognised and allow the recipient to take part in that activity within the corps. Gaining a Grade 3 Certificate in Music is one such award.

Recently, on a Squadron parade night, Cadet Michael Bramham was presented with the ATC’s Blue Instrumentalist Musician’s Badge in recognition of this musical achievement. Having had cello lessons outside of the Squadron, he has attained grade 3 and been awarded his certificate by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

Cadet Bramham was presented with his ATC Blue Bandsman Music Badge by the Squadron’s staff member Adult Sgt Alex Stapleton. “This is now the second Music Badge to be awarded at 42F (King’s Lynn) Squadron in recent weeks, and it is hoped that this trend will continue. This is adding yet another string to the squadron’s bow” said Sgt Stapleton.
