Since the cadet’s previous pastoral mentor, the Reverend Corin Child moved from St John’s church in the Walks to another parish three years ago the Squadron has been without this important member of staff.

On Monday 9th October the Air Cadet’s Norfolk & Suffolk Wing Padre, Reverend Canon Ron Tuck, travelled from Beccles to 42F’s Loke Road Headquarters in King’s Lynn to officially induct Reverend Davey into the Corps. The proceedings took place in front of the assembled cadets who witnessed their Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Pauline Petch, present Father Andrew with his badge of office. Later in the evening the cadets were able to meet informally with their new Padre.

Flight Lieutenant Petch, said “We are really pleased to welcome Andrew. Pastoral care for our young people is very important, no matter what their religion, and I know Andrew will be a great asset to the Squadron.”

Reverend Davey commented later “I was delighted to be asked to act as Squadron Padre and very much look forward to working with these great cadets and their staff and hopefully making our good people better.”
