Help to Get Nuneaton’s Air Cadets Back on the Road

121_IMG_6267Nuneaton based Royal Air Force Air Cadets are appealing for help in a bid to get themselves back on the road after their Squadron’s Minibus was Written-Off in a road traffic collision on the M6
Thankfully, none of the Cadets or Staff who were in the bus at the time sustained any injury, however, the Minibus itself has now been Written-Off by the insures as being beyond economical repair.
This as you can imagine has come as a totally unexpected blow to the Squadron and the amount currently being offered by the insurers is not expected to be sufficient to cover the cost of a suitable replacement.
The Squadron relies heavily on our Minibus in order to enable us to continue to provide support to our local ex-service community and activities for our cadets and its loss is set to seriously impact on our ability to get our cadets to forthcoming activities and events.
As such the Squadron is holding various sponsored events in order to raise the money required to replace our Mini Bus. The first such event being the “Pay for Pain” whereby SNCO’s and Officers are having their legs waxed.
The first of three public “Pay for Pain” leg waxing sessions took place during the Nuneaton Carnival Gala with the first  victims, sorry, volunteers being Joe Farmer (Cpl Hollie Farmer’s, brother and boy, how much did she enjoy inflicting Pain on him) and Flying Officer David Shuttleworth and all the cadets relished the idea of pulling a strip off him.
Further public “Pay for Pain” leg waxing sessions will be taking place during the Armed Forced Day event in Nuneaton on the 24th June and at the 30 Signals Regiment Open Day on the 23rd July, so why not come along and show your support for your local Air Cadets and make a donation to help get them back on the road.
Officer Commanding 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks said, “On behalf of the whole Squadron I would like to take this opportunity send a massive Thank You to Lindsay, from Celestial Star Therapies, who giving up her time to do the ‘Pay for Pain’ leg waxing for us”
He added, “As well as holding sponsored events such as the leg waxing, we would also appeal to former cadets and friends of the Squadron or anyone else who may be willing to make a donation to our Mini Bus replacement fund to come forward in order to help to get the Nuneaton based Royal Air Force Air Cadets “Back On The Road”.
If you would like to make a donation towards the 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron Minibus replacement please contact Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks on 07790290273.
