From Princess to King!

Following on from the excitement of the Royal visit to the cadets on a camp at RAF Wittering, Air cadets from Ramsey Squadron had a Royal visit of a different kind with a trip to 45(R) Squadron at RAF Cranwell to experience the flight of a Beechwood King Air.

Cadet Sergeant Christopher Beevor, Cadets Corporal Holly Bicknell and Cadets Jamie Glazier, Blaine McCaig and Shea Kennedy started the day with an important safety briefing followed by an instructional session in the flight simulator.  Cadets then were given the chance to fly in the King Air as passengers with some enjoying flights up to 90 minutes!

Cadet Shea Kennedy, the squadron’s youngest cadet, said; “it was brilliant! I had the BEST day!  I felt excited and couldn’t wait to get in the air. It was an awesome day and I wish I could do it all over again!”.

Cadet Sergeant Christopher Beevor said; “I feel it was a fantastic day, not only overall, but to give the cadets an opportunity to fly on something different rather than the usual Grob Tutor aircraft.  For me the day was fantastic and fuelled my passion for flying further.  It was a great pleasure flying with 45(R) squadron and I hope to return for more flying in the very near future”.
