This weekend, whilst attending the AIr Traing Corp’s 75th Anniversary Flagship Celebration Parade & Musical Extravaganza, six lucky cadets had the once in a cadet career opportunity of attending dinner with Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier, the Chief of Air Staff for the Royal Air Force.
Cadet Flight Sergeant Nathan Moffatt was one of the lucky six to be invited by the Air Chief Marshal of which he was led into the RAF Cranwell’s College House Officer’s Mess where he ate among an entire mess of other VIP’s including senior RAF & Air Cadet Organisation Officers.
During this once in a lifetime opportunity it was a perfect occasion to find out more about the Chief of Air Staff, his career path and also his interests – especially with the Air Cadet Organisation. Flight Sergeant Moffatt was also questioned about his career path – who aspires to become an adult member of staff within the Air Cadet Organisation.
Other notable attendees to the dinner were Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty – Commandant Air Cadets; Honorary Group Captain Carol Vorderman along with an incredible amount of senior Officers including international Air Force Cadet Organisation Officers and cadets from Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the United States of America all over from the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE).
Flight Sergeant Moffatt said: “It was an incredible privilege to have been invited by the Chief of Air Staff for dinner and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was an occasion that I won’t forget in my cadet career and a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
