With due ceremony, this wonderful example of the cake makers art, was officially cut by Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter’s famous Neville Longbottom).

Matthew himself a former Air Cadet from 2168 (Yeadon) Squadron who said he was thrilled to be asked to cut the cake in front of the air cadets and so many visitors, especially as he a former air cadet himself.

This is not the first cake Heather has made for the 75th Anniversary. Back in February, on ATC Sunday, another piece of Heather’s sugary art was sliced at the London Law Courts by the Corps new Royal Patron, Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge.

Nor, it would appear, the last as she is planning a another spectacular cake for the Music on the Orange Event in August.

The RIAT cake caused Heather a worrying car trip to deliver the super tall cake that had taken 35 hours to make and was 100% edible. Ingredients includes 30 eggs and 5kg of icing!

Well done to Heather and the Corps will look forward to the next Masterpiece in August.
