A veteran instructor at the local RAF Air Cadet Squadron has retired, departing his role after over a decade of teaching.
Civilian Instructor (CI) Dave Locking, a former paramedic, has taught Air Cadets for more than 13 years at 195 (Grimsby) Squadron, based on Regents Gardens, Off Westward Ho in Grimsby.
CI Locking has helped about 650 cadets to achieve their first aid and heart start qualifications, facilitating their ability to save lives.
Flight Lieutenant Terance Shird, Officer Commanding 195 (Grimsby) Squadron, said: “Mr Locking has helped so many of our cadets to pass their first aid qualifications.
“We are told almost every day how important these qualifications and this knowledge can be to helping save lives, and CI Locking has enabled these cadets to gain that knowledge.
“As the commanding officer, I am very grateful to Mr Locking, and I know that the cadets will miss his lessons and his sense of humour.”
Flt Lt Flint wished Mr Locking well in his retirement.
