Collaborating for Bronze

Nineteen Air Cadets from 864 (Watton) Squadron and 231 (Norwich) Squadron recently joined forces to complete a bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award training day.

They successfully completed their first practice walk of 10 miles around rural Watton in Norfolk.  Comments from cadets at the end of the achievement were ‘loved it, can we do it again’ and ‘that was better than map reading in the classroom!’

Flying Officer Holly Ireson from 231 (Norwich) Squadron commented that collaborating with another air cadet squadron has many benefits for undertaking the DofE Bronze Award. The staff can share skills, the cadets have the opportunity to meet other cadets and improve their skills in areas such as team work, communication and leadership.

The training day was organised and hosted by Civilian Instructor Mary Wright from 864 (Watton) Squadron.
