Cadets return flying helmet to RAF Wattisham

Cadets and staff from 432 (Woodbridge) Squadron, RAF Air Cadets,  visited RAF Wattisham Aviation Society to loan a flying helmet that has been with the Woodbridge Squadron for a number of years.

The Commanding Officer of 432 Squadron Flight Lieutenant  Simon Turner VR(T) and the rest of his staff decided that it would be a good idea for the helmet to go back to the RAF station it spent many years at .

Warrant Officer (ATC) Michael Knights and seven cadets took the helmet to RAF Wattisham to hand it over to the Wattisham Aviation Society in front of their F4 Phantom FGR 2 XT 914

The Cadets also had the chance to sit in the other aircraft that the museum has on show.

Flight Lieutenant Turner said that it was an honour to return this piece of history to 56 Squadron’s home.
