Central & East Has Talent

The Central & East Region’s search for talent continued on Sunday with Talented cadets from Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire Wing putting themselves in front of an invisible panel of judges.

Three cadets represented of the Wing and gave their all in pursuit of the two places available for the Final Showdown in a few weeks time.

The whole show was hosted by the Region’s Warrant Officer, Mr Mike Webb, courtesy of the excellent resource of Microsoft Teams.  A panel of judges was formed from Regional staff with the addition of special Guest, Wing Commander Andy Pass, Officer Commanding South and East Midlands Wing, and selected staff and cadets from the participating wing.

Wing Commander Pass praised the contestants bravery; “under normal circumstances its take a lot to stand before a live audience and perform, to do it in front of a camera not knowing who is watching, takes considerable confidence and self belief.  These performer were absolutely brilliant, well done”

Winning Act, Daniel Gaulder

Unfortunately only two could go through to the Final on the 14th June.   Adjudged to have won by the judging panel was singer Cadet Daniel Gaulder who delivered his rendition with confidence and clarity with a very pleasing voice.  Daniel was representing 2409 (Halton) Squadron.

The remaining place was keenly fought over with only one point separating the two contestants.  Taking the second spot was Cadet Tapasya Sharma from 606 (Beaconsfield) Squadron with a mature performance on the piano.

Next Sunday is the turn of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing to impress with their talented cadets (or staff).
