On Saturday 10th June 2023 cadets and volunteers from across the Region congregated on Grantham Athletics Stadium for the annual Regional Athletics Championships. The weather was gloriously hot and the day included a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Hurricane!
This year was unusual as there were seven Wing competing due to this being the final event for Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing with the Region.
Each event was competed for by four categories of Cadet –
- Junior Girls Under 15 Years of age on 01 Sep 22
- Junior Boys Under 15 Years of age on 01 Sep 22
- Senior Girls 15 Years of age and Under 18 Years of age on 01 Sep 22
- Senior Boys 15 Years of age and Under 18 Years of age on 01 Sep 22

- Long Jump
- Javelin
- Shot Putt
The competition was fierce but good natured throughout the day. The overall category winners were –
- Junior Girls – South & East Midlands Wing
- Junior Boys – South & East Midlands Wing
- Senior Girls – Trent Wing
- Senior Boys – Norfolk & Suffolk Wing
The overall competition winners were South & East Midlands Wing!
