New Regional Training Officer

Central & East Region is delighted to announce that Squadron Leader Adrian Jones is appointed to the Central & East Regional Staff as the Regional Training Officer (RTO).

Squadron Leader Jones took over from Squadron Leader Mike Eckersley with effect from 1st October 2022 and becomes a full-time Regional Staff Officer. He will retain his Wing Training Officer & Wing Bader Officer role with Herts & Bucks Wing until the end of the year.

Squadron Leader Jones joined the Air Training Corps initially as a cadet in 1998 at 2227 (Mid-Gwendraeth) Squadron in Wales. After a short break he started his adult volunteer journey in 2009 with 955 (Stevenage) Squadron.

After a move to 1066 (Hitchin) Squadron, where he became Officer Commanding in 2014, he joined the Wing Staff team. For the past seven years he has been the Wing Training Officer and Bader PoC.

Sqn Ldr Jones said “I am immensely proud and privileged to be given this opportunity to succeed Sqn Ldr Eckersley as the Regional Training Officer for Central & East Region.  For the last seven years, I’ve had the opportunity to shape training in my wing.  I now look forward to working with my fellow Regional Training Officers, with the support of the Central and East Region Wing Training Officers, in shaping training & development within the entire organisation.”

“I would like to thank Sqn Ldr Eckersley for the work he has done during his time as RTO, and I wish him the best on his new posting at HQ RAFAC.”
