A day to Remember

One lucky Royal Air Force Air Cadet recently had the good fortune of welcoming His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex on a recent visit to her home town of Luton.

On Thursday 12th September 2019, Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) Ella Legg of 10F (Luton Airport) Squadron, in her capacity as Lord Lieutenants cadet was given the honor of greeting HRH on a visit to a local high school.

The Duke of Sussex was visiting Lealands High School in Luton in his capacity as patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) All Schools Programme.  The Programme was launched in the hopes to increase the number of Secondary School pupils playing rugby union.

CWO Legg was fortunate to have been asked to greet HRH when he arrived at the school on Thursday.  When asked how she felt about this, the Ella replied; “It was a fantastic honour to have welcomed HRH to Bedfordshire, being a Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet I have been involved in many prestigious events in the last twelve months, but this Royal visit was by far the most exciting! HRH was very kind and took the time to talk with myself and my fellow Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet. It was an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.”

This was CWO Legg’s final duty as the Lord Lieutenants Cadet and what a final duty it was.
