Testing Time for the Mobile Challenge Course

Central and East Region’s RAF 100 Multi Activity Camp at Beckingham proved ideal testing conditions for the newly acquired Challenge Academy Mobile Challenge Course.

Having been tasked, along with London and South East Region, with testing the viability of the unique equipment within the Air Cadet environment, Central and East decided to integrate the Challenge Course within their week long RAF 100 Celebration Camp programme. This ensured 250 cadets at the camp had the opportunity to sample its effectiveness and for the staff to assess its ruggedness. Resoundingly it was declared “fit for purpose”.

Contained within an easily towed box trailer, all the equipment is of high quality and appears built to last. Based around basic, easily assembled, “A” frames the simple locking mechanisms require no tools and the ancillary equipment is easily fitted to create “monkey Bars”, balance beams scramble net and numerous other challenges.

Trained personnel can build a safe and effective course within forty minutes and have it disassembled equally as quickly.

The whole package has proved itself to be an excellent tool for team building and the development of leadership capability.

For those wishing to know more about the use of this magnificent equipment should contact the Assistant Regional Commandant at Region Headquarters.
