RAF Helper at St Neots

2500During a recent Parade night, Royal Air Force Air Cadets from 2500 (St Neots) Squadron enjoyed a visit from Senior Air Craftsman (SAC) Alex Miller, a Royal Air Force Survival Equipment Fitter currently based at RAF Benson, Oxfordshire.

SAC Miller, a former Cadet of the Squadron, brought specialist equipment used in his trade for the Cadets to learn about and interact with.

The Cadets had the opportunity to wear Aircrew helmets and had fun learning about and inflating life vests. The MS10 life-raft was also inflated for the cadets to experience what it is like on board (albeit in the safety of building on dry land) which was also an enjoyable feature of the evening.

SAC Miller is in the process of joining the Squadron as a “Service Helper”. This means he will be providing assistance and offering guidance in a range of areas at the Squadron during his time off from his RAF duties.
