A Chance for Air Cadets to have a say

This is an opportunity for cadets to consider – useful for their CV but no pressure from anyone for them to apply – purely a personal decision if, as a cadet, you have the time and think this would be of interest and value.  Commandant RAF Air Cadets has asked that this is brought to the attention of cadets. Below is an extract from an email from Leaders Unlocked giving details of what it is about;

“We are seeking to recruit young people from uniformed groups to join a Youth Consultation Panel as a part of our ongoing discussions and testing of work undertaken on social mixing, integration and social action. This will help us to build on and compliment the excellent engagement we have seen in recent research interviews and case studies.
In our original plans, we agreed a Young Person Panel’s focus could be:
Define what we mean by social mixing, integration and social action
Contribute towards key national developments, such as DCLG’s          Integration Strategy and consultation as it opens
Provide a strong youth voice focus to inform what we do nationally
Ideally, we want to recruit a diverse group of 12-15 young people aged 14 years upwards for the Consultation Panel. This is a brilliant opportunity for motivated young people from your networks to build on their existing leadership role, extend their skills and experiences further and to work with like-minded young people from different uniformed youth organisations.

All travel costs for young people attending will be covered, as well as lunch and refreshments. We will also offer reference letters and help with CVs for those who would find that useful in their onward journey.

Our aim is not for this to interfere in current activity/involvement in your organisations planned activity and we will find a way to navigate this”.

Should you be interested, please contact your Squadron Commander and ask for the Application Forms.
