RAF Marham Hosts Cadet Parade

ATC Sunday Parade RAF Marham (2)

Air Cadets from 42F (King’s Lynn), 864 (Watton), 1018 (Downham Market), 1894 (Swaffham), 1895 (Cromer), and 2534 (Fakenham) Squadrons were welcomed onto RAF Marham for the Corps’ annual ATC Sunday Parade and church service.

Having been officially formed 76 years ago on 5th February 1941 the Corps individual squadrons all parade on the nearest Sunday to that date and attend a church service to renew their ‘Cadet Promise’.

The five Squadrons welcomed onto RAF Marham’s base numbered almost 90 cadets which, after the parade, filled the base church almost to capacity.

The salute was taken by RAF Marham’s Wing Commander Stu Geary. He also addressed the cadets during the service which was conducted by the Reverend (Flight Lieutenant) Chrissie Lacey. The sermon was given by the Reverend (Squadron Leader) Geoffrey Firth.

Following the official proceedings all who had taken part, and several proud parents, were welcomed into the chaplaincy centre for refreshments.
