Cadet Instructor ‘Over the Moon’ with Promotion

????????????????????????????????????

RAF Air Cadet adult instructor, Lewis Barron, was this week celebrating after receiving a promotion to the rank of Sergeant.
Sergeant Barron spent 8 years as an air cadet before leaving and returning as an adult civilian instructor at 195 (Grimsby) Squadron – a post he has held for 2 and a half years.
After successfully completing a pre-uniform course, which assesses an individual’s suitability for a uniformed role in the organisation, Sergeant Barron faced a board interview, where he discussed his application for promotion with senior officers within the Air Cadet Organisation.
Following this process, Sgt Barron was officially appointed as a Sergeant in the RAF Air Cadets.
Sgt Barron said: “I’m excited. I can’t wait to hit the ground running and use my new rank and experiences to help train up the new recruits.”
Flight Leuitenant Terance Shird, Officer Commanding 195 Squadron, said: “We’re very proud of what Sergeant Barron has achieved – as a Civilian Instructor he proved to be a valuable member of this Squadron.
“I look forward to seeing Sergeant Barron in his new role.”
