866 (Immingham) Squadron Air Cadets supported the Immingham Mayor’s Community Thank You Service held at St Andrews church recently. Along with members of the Sea cadets, Army cadets and other uniformed organizations they formed a Guard of Honour for the town Mayor Councillor David Barton and his guests. To entertain the congregation as they arrived, members of the Air Cadets band – “The Flying Vikings” – played a medley of well known music.
The service conducted by Reverend Julie Donn celebrated the work of the many different organizations in the town and was the platform for the Mayor to say thank you to the community. The congregation which filled the church was representative of the community of Immingham and was proof that there are many active groups in the town.
After the service, the cadets, once again, lined the route from the church but not until they had partaken of the marvellous buffet for the guests and themselves.
