2222 BBrigg Squadron adopted by Scunthorpe Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association


The RAF Air Cadet Organisation have always worked closely to support the aims of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA), particularly in support of the RAFA Wings Appeal.
2222 Brigg Squadron, RAF Air Cadets has always supported RAFA, spending days each year collecting on behalf of the charity through street collections and fund raising events in the Brigg Area. On the 2nd February this partnership was officially recognised when the Scunthorpe Branch adopted the Squadron. The adoption cements the relationship between 2222 Brigg Squadron and the Royal Air Forces Association, a partnership that is of mutual benefit to both.
Squadron Leader Gill Wills, Sector Commander and former Officer Commanding 2222 Squadron was present at 119 Scunthorpe’s Dining In night, where the adoption took place. Sqn Ldr Wills said’ this is a great step forward and I know that the squadron will continue to support RAFA in the years to come, particularly with the Wings Appeal. RAFA have a great deal to offer us, as we do them so it is mutually beneficial to all.’
