Air cadets from 195 (Grimsby) Squadron were this week presented with their heart start certificates, making the successful completion of their first aid training.
The fourteen local air cadets each completed a 2 week course on basic first aid and CPR.
Also being presented with a heart start certificate was recently promoted Pilot Officer Kirsty Hudson, who had successfully renewed her first aid qualification shortly before Christmas.
Flight Lieutenant Terence Shird, Commanding Officer of 195 Sqn, said: “I’m very proud of the cadets’ achievements. As a Squadron, we take first aid very seriously, and ensure that every cadet that passes through our doors receives training, because ultimately you never know when you may need that knowledge”
Pilot Officer Kirsty Hudson said: “We are lucky at 195 Squadron in that we have a strong staff team that are trained and qualified in different areas, so we can offer a wider variety of training to our cadets, and first aid is one of those areas. Some people may go through life never having to use first aid; however we won’t take that chance. Our cadets are trained and have in the past saved lives by using their training
