For one air cadet from Melton, the weekend was a busy one as he joined with the Air Cadet National Marching Band at the CCF Air Squadron Trophy Day. It was only a few months ago that Cadet Sam Page gained his gold musicians badge and joined the band. Here’s what he has to said about the weekend’s performance.
‘It was another amazing time with the ACO National Marching Band, it was great to see everyone again, unpack our instruments and start rehearsals soon after our arrival on Saturday afternoon; practising for the remainder of the day.
We all arrived by coach at the Shuttleworth Collection on Sunday morning waiting for our time to shine at the annual CCF Air Squadron Trophy Day Presentations. We played the General Salute for the VIP inspecting officer, and we even got to meet Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty in person, she was extremely impressed with everyone and everything involved in the afternoons event.’
