On Sunday 28th June the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk’s cadets, Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) Alex Stapleton of 42F (King’s Lynn) Squadron Air Training Corps and Cadet Petty Officer (PO) Joe Coady of Norwich’s Lord Nelson Sea Cadet Corps, were busy at Norwich Cathedral assisting with an exhibition to celebrate the work of volunteers and voluntary organisations.

The event showcased and applauded the work of 56 charities and organisations within the Anglia region and was to inspire more people to volunteer within the community. A cross section of charities and organisations took part that included Age Concern, the Air Ambulance and the Scouts. The exhibition highlighted the impact that volunteering can have, and how the lives of countless people can be enriched and improved by their actions.

CWO Alex Stapleton explained that “In the morning PO Coady and I assisted the office of the Lord Lieutenant to help the charities to set up their stands and displays in the cloisters and then we were on hand to meet and greet the public when they arrived”.

Richard Jewson, the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk said that he hoped the event had “enabled charities and individuals who volunteer to celebrate the many good news stories there are to tell”.
