Central & East Female Sports Cadet of the Year

Cdt Rose receives her Trophy from Air Commodore Jon Ford

Although only Fourteen years old, Cadet Lauren Rose of 1237 (North Hykeham) Squadron has impressed all with her sporting achievements and is a worthy winner of the Region Female Sport Cadet of the Year.

Lauren has represented her squadron, Trent Wing and Region in various sporting and athletic competitions and has twice been voted “Player of the Tournament”.   She is also captain of the Trent Wing and Central & East Region Junior Netball and Hockey Teams.

Under the watchful eye of the Squadron Sports Officer, Lauren, as deputy Sports Officer, organizes sports teams, trains the cadets and helps the cadets using her knowledge and skills.

Lauren’s love of, and skill in, Football is probably inherited from her father who played football for North West England and has played against famous players  Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen.   Using these skills Lauren has coached a squadron female football team.

At school Lauren is captain of the Year 7 – 10 Football Team and gained first place in the 800m and 1500m races.  Lauren broke the County 1500m record this season.

“I’m extremely honoured and proud to become the first ever 1st year Cadet to win such a prestigious award. I would like to thank all my teammates and staff but especially Squadron Lerder Worsnop and Flight Lieutenant  Howle for supporting me. I’m extremely proud to represent 1237 North Hykeham and Trent Wing. This shows all cadets that hard work and dedication is rewarded no matter of rank.” said Cadet Rose who has recently been the Face of Nike and SD Women for a Nike promotion on Instagram.
