Mayor has a Brush with a Tornado

The visit of the Mayor of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Councillor Colin Manning, to 42F (King’s Lynn) Squadron Air Cadets was one of his last official engagements of his year in office. He toured the Squadron’s headquarters escorted by Mayors Cadet, Cdt Corporal Elliot Simpson, who explained what activities the cadets were involved in.

The visit, on Thursday 5th May, coincided with some of the cadets beginning the painting of one of a number of model Tornado aircraft which will form an ‘Arts Trail’ around the historic core of Lynn. The trail, organised by the Squadron’s Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Pauline Petch, will mark the 100th anniversary of RAF Marham and will form part of that station’s official ‘Marham 100’ events.

The trail will be launched on June 2nd and the individual models have been sponsored by West Norfolk businesses, organisations and individuals and follows on from the highly successful 2015 Spitfire Trail organised by Flt Lt Petch. During his visit the Mayor was able to ceremonially d
