Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremony


 

Cadets and staff were invited to take part in the flag raising ceremony to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.

Cadet Lill accompanied by Pilot Officer Webb Officer Commanding Dunstable Squadron were their to represent the Air Training Corps,  joined by several RAF Personnel from RAF Henlow and Chicksands as well as representatives from the Army, Navy, Royal British Legion and Royal Air Force Association to raise the Armed Forces Day flag at Watling House to show our support and respect to our Armed forces.

After the ceremony there were a number of readings read by local council representatives followed by refreshments, photographs and signing of the Armed Forces Day Flag.

“I thought it was an absolute privilege to be invited to this event to show our appreciation and support to our armed forces. It was also a brilliant opportunity to network with Army/Navy/Air Force personnel from our local military bases and to give personal thanks to our local veterans from the Royal British Legion and Royal Air Force Association” quoted Pilot Officer Webb.
