Answering the call for an Honour Guard, 42F (King’s Lynn) Squadron Air Cadets were on hand as usual for the annual Justices Service at the King’s Lynn Minster Church of St Margaret.
A packed congregation stood as the colourful civic party, resplendent in robes and uniforms, made its way from the nearby Town Hall, passing through the Honour Guard of cadets, and into the church.
The numerous dignitaries and prominent persons attending included the High Sheriff of Norfolk and visiting High Sheriffs, the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, the Borough Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Purple and Red Robed Judges, and senior officers of both the British and American military.
Following the service a reception was held at the rear of the church at which the cadets played a more informal role ensuring that those present were availed of nibbles and liquid refreshment. “I had nothing but praise for our cadets from everyone I spoke to there”, said Mike Lister the Squadron’s civilian committee chairman, “very smart turn out’ & ‘a credit to our town’ were but two of the comments I received”.
