Fifty-two Air Cadets and nineteen Staff from across Norfolk and Suffolk have just returned from an amazing week of Adventure training in the Highlands of Scotland.
Located just outside Aviemore, the Cadets spent a week in the hills learning and honing their Map reading and Navigation skills with some of the cadets taking on the challenge of some High Level walking under the guidance of our Mountain Leaders.
Whilst not out walking in the sunny weather the Cadets also had a great time Mountain biking, where there are some actual mountains, Whizzing through the trees whilst Zip Wiring, and using a paddle whilst White Water Rafting on the Findhorn River under the supervision of the team from Ace Adventure.
The Cadets also managed to get in a little culture during a visit to the Highlanders Museum at Fort George and a visit to the Loch Ness Exhibition Center on the shores of Loch Ness.
The Cadets had a great time in Scotland with many saying they didn’t want to go home and would be back next year.
Squadron Leader Nick Castle, the weeks Camp Commandant, said “An excellent week was had by all taking part and enjoying activities which we don’t get the opportunity to do in the flat lands of Norfolk & Suffolk”
A message of thanks goes to all those who supported this camp which include Rothiemurchas Lodge, The Highlanders Museum at Fort George and John Grose Group Ltd.
