For the fourteenth consecutive year, Central and East Region, RAF Air Cadets, have fought off all challengers to become the Air Training Corps swimming champions.

Air Cadet swimmers, the best from all the Corps six Regions, converged on the RAF College Cranwell Swimming Pool on a misty, late October Saturday morning to fight for the honour of becoming the best swimmers in the Corps.

The competition was fierce and no particular Region seemed to dominate the medal podium. Central & East, however, were certainly up amongst the best with excellent performances ensuring consistent visits to medal table, however, not always taking Gold.

In the end, this consistency and the cadet’s shear grit and determination saw Central & East through to an unprecedented fourteenth Swimming Victory.

Squadron Leader Kevin Bunn, the Region Sports Officer, was obviously over the moon with the result but took time to thank not only the great team of cadets but also the members of staff who ensured the strongest possible team was available and all those parents who transported cadets to the various venues leading up to the Finale.
