Cadet Warrant Officer David Timson, the top male cadet in the Royal Air Force Air Cadets has had a fantastic year so far and he’s not stopping there!
On Tuesday the 21st of July David sets off to Canada on this year’s International Air Cadet Exchange as a UK representative for 2 weeks! Throughout this David will gain an insight into what the culture is like in Canada what the Air Cadet organisation has to offer over there and gain a general insight into life in Canada.
Following that opportunity David has 2 days rest and jets straight off to Hong Kong for 2 weeks on the Regional Dacre Sword nomination trip! This is a brand new event for the Air Training Corps and is an amazing opportunity. During this trip the cadets and staff will undertake a week of sight-seeing and getting used to the culture and a visit main land China! As well as this the Group will also be taking part in the Hong Kong Air Cadets week long Leadership camp which will be a great experience for them all.
After that it’s straight off to a Qualifying Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition in Snowdonia for a week! Then David plans to return to the Air Cadet Junior Leaders Course during their selection weekend for 2 days. Following this David sets straight off to RAF Halton for Region Field day escorting a very important officer!
Straight after that on the Monday he is set to catch the Train up to Tayside Aviation in Scotland, Dundee for 2 weeks to undertake an 18 hour flying scholarship to finish his National Private Pilot’s Licence!
