Mayor’s Cadets Appointed


The annual Mayor making ceremony at King’s Lynn Town Hall on Thursday 21st May saw Councillor Colin Manning elected to hold the office of Mayor of the Borough of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk for the next twelve months. A representative from each of the town’s cadet forces is also appointed at this time as Mayor’s Cadet for the coming year.

In turn each cadet marched forward to receive a badge of office from the new Mayor, resplendent in his red robes. Mayors Cadet for T. S. Vancouver Sea Cadets is Liam Connolly and for the Army Cadet’s it is Joshua Chapman. 42F (King’s Lynn) Squadron Air Training Corps recipient of the honour is Cadet Elliot Simpson.

15 year old Elliot takes over the role from 42F Squadron’s Cadet Corporal Danielle Whisker who said that she enjoyed her year as Mayor’s Cadet during which she had attended many events and met a lot of civic dignitaries and other interesting people.

Cadet Simpson said “It is a great honour to be picked to be the Mayor’s Cadet and to represent the Squadron at civic events over the next twelve months”.
