On Sunday (27 September) three sporting cadets from 378 (Mannock) Squadron, trialled for and were selected to represent the Air Training Corps South and East Midlands Wing at their forthcoming clash against football and hockey teams from all around the region.
Budding athletes, Cadet Corporal Sean Lyddall and Cadet Jake Leadbitter, both 15, were both selected to represent the Wing in the football team, while Cadet Sukhmani Sandu, 14, was chosen to take the girls hockey team to the next level.
All three are looking forward to earning their ‘Wing Blue’ and are set to compete at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire later next month.
Mannock Squadron’s Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Mike Stock, said: “It is fantastic that our cadets have been selected. The Squadron is certainly punching above its weight in its representation of the Wing in sports and we are all very proud of Sukhmani, Jake and Sean who have all worked extremely hard.”
